An afternoon of barbershop tags, harmony & community
The event takes place at PROGR Kleine Bühne, right in the heart of Bern. Here's everything you need to find us.
From Bern train station it's just a 5–10 minute walk. Follow the signs to "PROGR OST" and enter there — from that point you'll find our event signposted all the way. Coming from somewhere else? You can navigate straight to the entrance:

Whether you’re a seasoned barbershopper or simply curious about this vibrant a cappella tradition, the Tag Along Day is your invitation to dive in. Come sing barbershop tags, enjoy a heartfelt afternoon together, and connect with passionate singers from across Switzerland. All voice parts welcome — no preparation needed, just bring yourself and a love for harmony.
What’s a barbershop tag?
A tag is a short snippet — typically the last few bars of a song — designed to be sung spontaneously by any four singers. Tags are the heartbeat of barbershop culture: they bring people together instantly, transcend voice parts and experience levels, and create those magical “ringing chord” moments that keep barbershoppers coming back for more. No sheet music, no rehearsal — just sing!
This is a casual, welcoming event for anyone who loves harmony singing. You’ll network with like-minded vocalists, swap tags, share music, and leave with new friends and maybe a few new favourite chords.
I've been singing Barbershop in several quartets and choruses across Germany and other countries, acting as a substitute director in one of them. With my passion for arranging, teaching tags and creating barbershop video content I hope to give back to this community that literally changed my life a few years ago.
www.michaelolm.de →Hi, I'm Julia and I am delighted to see (and hear 😄) Barbershop spread across Switzerland. I've been with the German Barbershop Association (BinG!) and several quartets for many years and I got to compete and experience this great art form in different countries and organizations. As a chorus conductor, vocal coach and choreographer I love to help each ensemble find their voice(s).
After two years in the barbershop community — competing in both the Netherlands and Germany — I am deeply honoured to stand before you as the founder and president of the Swiss Association of Barbershop Singers. I look forward to sharing my passion with you, introducing you to the rich history of barbershop and its wonderfully warm, heartfelt community.
A hat will be passed around for voluntary contributions — give what you feel!
Feel free to bring a sweet treat to share — always appreciated and never refused.
Drinks will be available for a smooth and festive start to the afternoon.
Any voice part, any experience level. Just bring your voice and curiosity!
